RECIFE

Recife é a sexta maior área metropolitana do Brasil com 3.743.854 habitantes, a maior área metropolitana das regiões Norte/Nordeste e a capital da maior cidade do estado de Pernambuco. A população na cidade é de aproximadamente 1.555.039 habitantes.

Recife está localizada onde o Rio Beberibe encontra com o Rio Capibaribe desaguando no Oceano Atlântico.É o maior porto do Oceano Atlântico.Seu nome é uma alusão aos recifes de corais presentes na costa da cidade. Os muitos rios, pequenas ilhas e mais de 50 pontes no centro da  cidade de Recife caracterizam sua geografia e lhe dá o apelido de " Veneza Brasileira".
A região metropolitana de Recife é a principal zona industrial do estado de Pernambuco. Recife tem a tradição de ser o centro comercial mais importante das regiões Norte/Nordeste do Brasil com mais de 52.500 empreendimentos na própria Recife e mais 32.500 na área metropolitana totalizando de mais de 85.000.

A praia de Porto de Galinhas , a 60 kilômetros ao sul da cidade ,tem sido repetidamente premiada com o título de melhor praia brasileira. Juntamente com Natal estas são as únicas cidades brasileiras com vôos diretos para as ilhas de Fernando de Noronha, patrimônio histórico desde 2001.

Recife is located where the Beberibe River meets the Capibaribe River to flow into the Atlantic Ocean. It is a major port on the Atlantic Ocean. Its name is an allusion to the coral reefs that are present by the city's shores. The many rivers, small islands and over 50 bridges found in Recife city center characterize its geography and gives it the moniker of the "Brazilian Venice."
The Metropolitan Region of Recife is the main industrial zone of the State of Pernambuco. Recife has a tradition of being the most important commercial center of the North/Northeastern regions of Brazil with more than 52,500 business enterprises in Recife itself plus 32,500 in the Metro Area which totals more than 85,000.
 The beach of Porto de Galinhas, 60 kilometers  south of the city, has been repeatedly awarded the title of best beach in  Brazil.Together with Natal these are the only Brazilian cities with direct flights to the islands of Fernando de Noronha, World Heritage Site since 2001.
